Roasted Broccoli with Garlic and Parmesan Cheese is simple and healthy side dish.
Perfectly crisp and roasted on the edges , with bits of crunchy bread crumbs.

Roasted Broccoli

Have you tried roasting broccoli before?

Roasted broccoli florets are so delicious.
It has that 'charred or burnt taste' that comes from 'slightly over roasting' bits within the broccoli florets.

And the golden crisp of the breadcrumbs with parmesan cheese and garlic is to die for!!!.
It's kind of addictive!!!

Roasted broccoli has become a staple in my house of late.
We generally eat what mother nature has to offer for the season.

Broccoli was in abundant, and only cost me fifty cents each.
Roasted Broccoli with Garlic and Parmesan Cheese, is our go to side dish now (provided broccoli is still dirt cheap)

How to Cook Broccoli other than roasting?

Apart from my recent spate of Roasted Broccoli craze, I love to have steamed broccoli (using microwave of course!!)

Australian vegetables and produce are fresh and sweet.
We enjoyed eating steamed our vegetables, be it Asian greens, carrots, brussel sprouts, cauliflower and of course broccoli too!

Other than steamed broccoli, my other way of enjoying broccoli is to cook Broccoli soup.

Can I Use Frozen Broccoli florets?

I would not recommend using frozen broccoli florets to roast, as those frozen ones may contain high water retention (ice and all).

Anyway by, the time those broccoli florets has fully thawed, they tend to be limp and lifeless.

Frozen broccoli florets are best for steaming or for making broccoli soup :D

How to keep the leftovers of these Roasted Broccoli with Garlic and Parmesan Cheese?

Normally there is no leftover, but if there are some, best keep them in an air-tight container and refrigerate.

Do note that these Roasted Broccoli with Garlic and Parmesan Cheese will not be as crisp as the day before.

Can I use other spices to Roast Broccoli?

Sure :)

I have tested the same recipe twice and added a 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to my dry mix.
Those cayenne pepper roasted broccoli turned out to be as delicious as these Roasted Broccoli with Garlic and Parmesan Cheese.

In my humble opinion, and as a person who loves spicy food, I would add cayenne pepper to my oven roasted broccoli every time :P.
