Ginger Nut Biscuits

Crunchy, snappy ginger nut biscuits or known as gingersnaps cookies.
Golden syrup is added for that extra sweetness and deep golden colour to these ginger nut biscuits.
Ginger nut biscuits are meant to be a hard and snappy biscuits, best dunk in your cuppa!
Flavoured with ginger powder to give that hint of spice in the biscuits.
The ingredients are flour, butter, sugar, golden syrup, bicarbonate soda and ginger powder of course!
No egg is used in this ginger nut recipe.
Ginger nut is fairly easy to bake.
No creaming needed, just melt butter, syrup and sugar and mix with dry ingredients.
1. Sieve flour, soda bicarbonate and ginger powder.
2. Melt butter, golden syrup and sugar.
3. Add flour mixture to golden syrup mixture and mix well into a dough.
4. Divide equally into cookies dough size of your preference.
5. Baked ginger nut!
I used 180C bottom heat, bake for 12 minutes!
These two photos show you what 1 minute can do to my ginger nut!!!
A tad too long, it started to burn on the outside.
Ginger nut turn out to be hard and had a 'burnt' taste to it.
A smidgen too short in baking time, ginger nut will not be snappy, they will be chewy instead (which my daughter like!!)
So, my advice will be , don't just set your oven timer and walk away.
Watch your ginger nut in the oven when nearer to or after 10 minutes in the oven.
