Turkish Eggs or Çılbır is an absolute delicious breakfast.
What are Turkish Eggs?
Turkish eggs also known as Çılbır, is a simple yet delicious Turkish dish of poached eggs, serve with garlic yoghurt and drizzle with chilli oil.
You may wish to garnish with either dill or parsley.
Turkish eggs are best serve with turkish bread.
How to Make Turkish eggs?
It is very easy and not many steps involve to make this cilbir.Let us quickly go through the steps as shown in the photos below.
However, list of ingredients and methodology is in the printable recipe card below.
1. Add mince garlic to greek yoghurt, add salt.
2. Poach some eggs. 2 eggs per person.

3. Make chilli butter. I used Aleppo chilli.
Aleppo chilli has a mild warm taste with gentle spice heat.
4. Put all 3 above together in a bowl, and voila!!! you have turkish eggs.
Serve with toasted crusty bread.
How do you serve turkish eggs?
Turkish eggs are best serve as soon as possible while the eggs are still warm, turkish chilli butter is still runny.Leave this turkish eggs too long, then the chilli butter will start to solidify.
Serve turkish eggs with turkish bread but if you have none, serve with toasted bread.
Can I keep this Turkish egg overnight?
I strongly suggest NOT to do so with poached eggs and yoghurt.Heating up turkish eggs in microwave will definitely change its structure and perhaps taste too.
