Chicken Tikka

June 29, 2011
Enjoying Chicken Tikka or Tandoori Chicken served with Naan , takes me back to my 'exercise' days with my besties ~ Melinda, Steph, Judith and Shirley. Once a week, we'd organised our ' Ladies' Night'... we'd meet up at Judith's place in the evening... went for our brisk walking... about 5 rounds around the block... a good 45 minutes walk... burnt out 'excess baggage', worked out buckets of sweat...  We enjoyed the walk... each other company... it was fun and we did all the exercise in the name of 'Keeping Healthy' and being 'Healthy' together...  but then... After the exercise we adjourned to the nearby 'Sri Neela' Indian restaurant or Mamak Stall Indian street hawker ... only to gain whatever we burnt off... during our walk...    We'd order our Garlic Naan, Tandoori Chicken, Tosai, Iced Lemon Tea... and so forth... and we'd sat there chit-chatting... catchin...

Aromatic Chicken with Yoghurt Sauce

April 26, 2011
Indian cuisine has lots of flavour with every bite... with wonderful aromatic spices like cumin, black pepper, coriander, cardamon as well as the use of fresh tumeric, ginger, coriander and mint. Among those wonderful spices...my favourite spices are coriander seeds and cumin, and I have them in big bottles...stock up in my pantry. what's your favourite spice/s...? Going down memory lane... when I was in my teens and my sisters left home to either work or start their family, and I was the only 'girl' left in the house to help my mom in her kitchen... boys were spared and barred from the kitchen... dont ask me why!! I haven't a clue till today mom would asked me to prepare spices for her...either cumin or coriander. I had to pound the spices... using mortar and pestle, I kept crushing and pounding until my hand ached but the  aroma from the spices permeated my senses that makes everything worthwhile... my love for cumi...

Spiced Hiramasa with Tomato, Ginger Curry

December 12, 2010
Growing up in Malaysia with its melting pot culture... I have the pleasure to savour and enjoy the varieties of food~you name it, Malaysia has it... It is a Food Haven for foodies like me... I have dined in fancy hotels, restaurants... sampling from Japanese to Dimsums to International Buffet spreads to road side 'Hawker' Food vendor. If you are in Malaysia ... you must not miss out eating in a restaurant serving Indian food... and not any Indian restaurant... but the one that will serve your order on Banana Leaf ... yes, you read it right , your food will be served on Banana Leaf not PLATE !!! and eat it with your FINGERS... again you read it right ... FINGERS not fork and spoon... It's lot of FUN... but be cautious... it can be addictive ... and the portions are ginormous (especially the rice). Fun part is towards the end, when we have finished eating... I am always confused as to which way to fold the banana leaf (either fold away from you o...
