Video on "How to Bake" Mung Bean Cookies

June 20, 2016

Gluten free mung beans cookies
Just a quick video on how to bake mung beans cookies or locally known as Putu Kacang.

And do watch the bloopers video below, for a bit of a laugh...sometimes we need that dose of laughter in our life ...;P

scroll down and read the description under the video :D

Eid celebration is just 14 sleeps away. Soon the kitchen will be in hype of activities, preparing food to break fast as well baking the Eid goodies :D

Mung beans cookies are gluten-free, vegan and nut -free cookies.

Using only 2 key ingredients {3 if you count water ;P}.
But to get that perfect percentage of moisture introduced to the flour-sugar mixture takes practice, patience and experience.... and trail of mess in the kitchen.

When I talked about practice... the 'Bloopers' video showed that making this cookie can be a tricky business, from mixing to even knocking them out of the mould.

They are that delicate!

That was my daughter in the video (she was the STAR, as she claimed she has better looking hand than mine!!! LOL) trying her hand to bake the mung bean cookies :D

  1. They look so beautiful. Will it work with lentil or even pea flour?

    1. Hi Sarah,
Mung bean flour is a better option to make this cookies. Its a tedious and messy process to grind mung beans to achieve 'flour' texture.
